The research team has long been engaged in the determination of welding residual stress and the study of stress-relief technology. It has created a new technology, indentation strain-gage method, which has high accuracy and convenient field application for non-destructive stress measuring. The team has compiled four national standards for residual stress determination and stress elimination method. For the highly gradient of the microstructure and performance in a welded joint, the mechanism of a new method for non-destructive evaluation of the mechanical properties in a micro-regime has been explored and the development of the corresponding equipment carried out in the past 10 years.
