Introduction more>>

The research group was established in 2018, affiliated to the Functional Materials and Devices Division, Shenyang National Laboratory for Materials Science, Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Prof. Bing Li is currently the group leader.

The main research interest lies in caloric materials and their refrigeration applications, including colossal barocaloric materials, magnetocaloric materials for ultralow temperatures, and high-performance elastocaloric materials. We prefer to employ national and international large-scale facilities for microscopic understanding of these materials, such as neutron scattering and synchrotron X-ray scattering. Benefited by the established physical scenarios, the group designs and optimizes the materials for real applications. So far, the group has published more than 70 papers on Nature, Nature Materials, Nature Communications and other leading journals.
