From October 23 to 26, 2024, the First Asia-Oceania Neutron Scattering Association (AONSA) Symposium on Phase-Change Cooling Materials was successfully held at the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The symposium attracted scholars from leading institutions around the world, including the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA), High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK), Kyoto University, Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organization (ANSTO), ISIS Neutron and Muon Source (UK), Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Spain), Sichuan University, Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Spallation Neutron Source, and Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Participants engaged in comprehensive discussions on the latest developments in phase-change cooling materials and the applications of neutron scattering techniques.
A total of 18 presentations were delivered, covering cutting-edge and high-interest topics in materials science, including barocaloric and magnetocaloric materials, as well as advanced neutron scattering methods.
