Dr. Li Qi, Professor of Department of Physics, Pennsylvania State University, U.S.A, recipient of the 2007 Research Award of Lee Hsun Lecture Series on Materials visited Institute of Metal Research, CAS from July 7 to July 27, 2007.
During the visit, she held several discussions with Director Ke Lu and scientists from Magnetism and Magnetic Materials Division, visited Shenyang National Lab for Materials Science, and gave 2 invited talks in the 3rd IMR Symposium on Materials Science and Technology.
Dr. Li obtained her Ph.D in Physics from Peking University. She became Professor and Co-chair, Intercollege Graduate Degree Program in Materials Science and Engineering, Pennsylvania State University in 2004. She has published more than 150 journal papers, and she won several honors and awards, including 1997 Petroleum Research Foundation Starter Award, 1997 National Science Foundation ROW Award, 1998 National Science Foundation Career Award, 1998 RDF Young Investigator Award, 2002-present Appointed International Advisory Board Member for Shenyang National Laboratory for Materials Science, 2006 Outstanding Young Scientist Award of the Natural Science Foundation of China.
