Prof. Dorel Banabic from Technical University of Cluj – Napoca, Romania visited the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMR, CAS) from May 26th to May 29th 2015,as the recipient of 2014 Lee Hsun Lecture Series—Research Award.
During the visit, Prof. Dorel Banabic gave a lecture entitled “Advances in Constitutive Modelling and Formability of Sheet Metals”.
Prof. Dorel Banabic is dedicated to the research of sheet metal forming and servo press technology. He developed a series of yield criteria for anisotropic metals named after him (BBC2000、BBC 2005、BBC2008). These criteria has been recognized academically and adopted by most of finite element software. Prof. Dorel Banabic proposed a new method to improve sheet superplastic forming and a new experimental test method of the forming limit diagram based on double sample hydraulic bulging.
