Prof. Alexander Michaelisfrom Fraunhofer Institute of Ceramic Technologies and Systems (IKTS) visited the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMR, CAS) from Oct.10th to Oct.13th2015, as the recipient of 2015 Lee Hsun Lecture Series—Lecture Award.
On the ceremony of Lee Hsun Lecture Series, Prof. Alexander Michaelis gave a lecture of “Advanced Ceramics for Energy Systems and Environmental Technology”. He introduced “From Lab to Fab”, the research concept of IKTS, especially several projects enlightened by the advanced ceramics research and industrial application. During the visit, Prof. Alexander Michaelis also conducted a deep and lively discussion with researchers and graduates from the High-performance Ceramics Division of IMR.
Prof. Alexander Michaelis is dedicated to the research of structural ceramics and functional ceramics. He is also a professor of the Inorganic Non-Metallic Materials (Ceramics) at Technical University of Dresdenand the president of the Research Division of German Ceramic Society.
