The recipient of 2016 Lee Hsun Lecture Series—Lee Hsun Lecture Award, Prof. Damien Feron from French State Power Research Institute, visited Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMR, CAS) from November 14 to 18, 2016.
During the visit, Prof. Feron delivered a lecture entitled “Nuclear corrosion and materials: achievements and challenges”. He stated the current achievements and challenges in the research of nuclear corrosion.
Prof. Feron is president of European Foundation of Corrosion (EFC), member of NACE International and head of French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). He has been working in the field of corrosion for more than 35 years, starting with liquid metal and moving towards aqueous media (including seawater corrosion and biocorrosion) and more generally involved today in the various fields of nuclear corrosion (metals and alloys in aqueous and non-aqueous environments).
