The recipient of 2016 Lee Hsun Lecture Series—Lee Hsun Research Award, Prof. Giuliano Giambastiani from Institute of Chemistry of OrganoMetallic Compounds ICCOM-CNR, visited Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMR, CAS) from March 14 to 17, 2017.
During the visit, Prof. Giuliano Giambastiani delivered a lecture entitled “Looking Beyond the Classical N-Doping of Carbon Nanomaterials in the Preparation of Metal-Free (electro) Catalysts”. He presented recent achievements and perspective in the field of (electro) catalysis by truly metal-free systems critically compared with the state-of-the-art.
Prof. Giuliano Giambastiani is in the ICCOM group (Institute of Chemistry of OrganoMetallic Compounds of the Italian National Research Council – ICCOM-CNR) where he holds the position of Senior Researcher since 2007. His current scientific activity spans from organic and organometallic synthesis and catalysis (homogeneous and heterogeneous) to the preparation and characterization of technologically advanced materials and composites based on functionalized carbon nanostructures such as carbon nanotubes, graphene, graphene-oxide and fullerenes.
