Prof. LI Tiefan from Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMR, CAS) won the “XIAO Jimei Award" from Chinese Society for Corrosion and Protection (CSCP) at the opening ceremony of the 9th National Conference of Corrosion held on October 19, in Qingdao.
“XIAO Jimei Award" is presented to the highest academic achievers in recognition of significant contributions to corrosion science.
Born in 1925, Prof. LI is a well-known scientist in the field of corrosion and protection. He is the pioneer of high temperature oxidation and protection subject. He is also the main founder of the CSCP. Prof. LI has been devoted to the research of metal’s corrosion and protection for over 60 years. He has made major contributions to the founding and development of steel gasmetry and steel quality control technology, the anti-high temperature and oxidation protection technology of ultra-temperature structural material and its application, and the mechanism and application of rare earth element improving alloy’s high-temperature oxidation and protective coating.
