Prof. DU Hao from the Surface Engineering of Materials Division, Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMR, CAS) won the Outstanding Prize of the National Innovation Challenge Match (Liaoning) on November 29, 2017.

The National Innovation Challenge Match (Liaoning) was held by the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center, Ministry of Science and Technology and Science and Technology Department of Liaoning province. And it was undertaken by Shenyang Technology Office and Shenyang High-tech District.

10 research teams from institutes and universities including CAS, China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology and Northeastern University took part in the match.

Prof. DU won the outstanding prize by presenting the technical proposal of low-cost SiC replacing existing Si ring on behalf of IMR.
