The 33rd SYNL Colloquium on Mechanical Behaviors of Materials was held on January 19, 2018 in Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMR, CAS).
Prof. ZHANG Jinyu from Xi'an Jiaotong University was the key speaker of the Colloquium and delivered a lecture entitled “Size effects on the plastic deformation and damage of Cu-based metallic nanolayered micropillars”. He introduced the experimental and theoretical work in plastic deformation mechanism of nanometer multilayer metal in his lecture.
Prof. ZHENG Shijian from Solid Atomic Imaging Division delivered a lecture entitled “Interface effects in nanolayered metallic materials”. Associate Prof. TIAN Yanzhong from Materials Fatigue and Fracture Division delivered a lecture entitled “Remarkable transitions of tensile properties in stable UFG materials with grain refinement”. Doctoral student LIANG Fei of IMR also delivered a report named“Interface constraint role in fatigue and necking behavior of Cu/Ni laminated composites” on the colloquium.
The SYNL Colloquium on Mechanical Behaviors of Materials is a major academic lecture series of Shenyang National Laboratory for Materials Science (SYNL), IMR, CAS. Numerous scientists from home and abroad attend the colloquium annually. It has been held 33times since 2010.
