In the 2018 annual meeting of Chinese Electron Microscopy Society held in Chengdu recently, Prof. MA Xiuliang from Solid Atomic Imaging Division, Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMR, CAS) received the QIAN Linzhao Award.
The QIAN Linzhao Award was set up to honor Prof. QIAN Linzhao, one of the founders of Chinese Electron Microscopy Society and world-class physicist and it was given every two years to whom made outstanding contributions in the field of electron microscopy.
Prof. MA is the head of Solid Atomic Imaging Division, IMR, and the vice board director of Chinese Electron Microscopy Society. His expertise is in structural and properties relationship of metals, materials & atomic scale level studies. He was awarded for his numerous major findings in fabricating periodic arrays of flux-closure domains in ferroelectric thin films with oxide electrodes and unmasking chloride attack on the passive film of metals in corrosion science.
Earlier in the 2016 annual meeting of Chinese Electron Microscopy Society, Prof. MA Xiuliang received the K.H. Kuo Award for Distinguished Scientist.
