Prof. WANG Jingyang of the Shenyang National Laboratory for Materials Science, Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMR, CAS), was recently awarded the Ceramics Society of America's Samuel Geijsbeek PACRIM International Award, which honors individuals who have had outstanding academic or industrial impact in the field of ceramics and glass among members of the five ceramic societies in the Pacific region (PACRIM) of China, the United States, Japan, Korea and Australia.
The PACRIM International Award was established in honor of Samuel Geijsbeek, one of the founders of the American Ceramic Society, to recognize an individual in the Pacific Region who has made an outstanding academic or industrial impact in the field of ceramics and glass among the members of PACRIM's five national ceramics societies in China, the U.S., Japan, Korea, and Australia. The award is given every two years and two winners are selected each time.
