Prof. PAN Qingsong Wins 2026 Tan Kah Kee Young Scientist Award in Technological Sciences

The Chinese Academy of Sciences recently announced the winners of the 2026 Tan Kah Kee Science Award and Tan Kah Kee Young Scientist Award. Prof. PAN Qingsong from the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences was awarded the Tan Kah Kee Young Scientist Award in Technological Sciences.

Named after Mr. Tan Kah Kee,  the Tan Kah Kee Science Award traces its origins to the Tan Kah Kee Prize established in 1988. Approved by the State Council in 2003, the CAS and the Bank of China jointly founded the Tan Kah Kee Science Award Foundation. In 2010, the foundation added the Tan Kah Kee Young Scientist Award, which aims to honor outstanding young scientific and technological talents under the age of 40 who have made important original scientific and technological achievements independently in China. To date, the Tan Kah Kee Science Award Foundation has selected a total of 128 laureates for the Tan Kah Kee Science Award and 54 for the Tan Kah Kee Young Scientist Award.
