Technical Support Division is a technical system affiliated to Shenyang R & D Centre for Advanced Materials. The division aims to improve the characterization capabilities on the structure and properties of various materials. The division can carry out the test and analysis of thermophysical properties, mechanical properties, microstructure characterization, thermal/mechanical simulation and special processing.

The facilities for microstructure characterization include a scanning electron microscope: Hitachi s3400; two metallurgical microscopes: Zeiss Axiovert 200 MAT, and Zeiss Stemi 2000; a surface profilometer: KLA－ADE microxam.

Materials property characterization instruments include SETARAM Setsys Evolution 18, TA Q1000, Anter FlashlineTM5000, Anter UnithermTMModel1252, IMCE RFDA-HTVP1750-C, INSTRON 5582, MTS 810, Leco AMH43.

The thermal/mechanical simulation instrument is DSI Gleeble3800.

The special processing instruments include a laser processing system and a crystal growth furnace.
